Name: | Call Me Saturday |
---|---|
Birthdate: | Aug 24 |
Location: | Seattle, Washington, United States |
Saturday is a nineteen twenty year old elven criminal mercenary operative from dystopian Seattle. For the past three months she's been trapped on the astral plane, and she would very, very much like to go home.
Abandoned by her caregivers at four years old, Saturday was found and adopted by local pillar of the community Hiroshi Nguyen Ramirez, an elderly orc who single-handedly kept his corner of the Red Town slum from being overwhelmed by gangers, corporations, and other organized crime. She was raised as his daughter and heir apparent, helping to protect and manage their home at the Red Town Community Center, and occasionally indulging in side jobs to bring in extra cash. One of those side jobs, however, went horribly wrong. Saturday and her crew were technically killed, then unkilled by a dragon twisting fate, then thrown bodily into the astral planes, and there they've been for the past three months. Over the course of that time, her best friend has died and come back to life twice (once as a dragon, and then again as a paladin of Death, who is actually pretty chill), her colleague got her throat slit and sacrificed her eye to a creepy artifact, and Saturday has been skinned alive and lost two limbs (it's fine, one was replaced and the other grew back). It has been. An Experience. And apparently it's not over yet.
Saturday is young and not as impulsive as she used to be. The past three months have left her scarred and cautious, drained a lot of her unexamined enthusiasm and good cheer, but it's also shaved away a lot of the bullshit. She's grown up, and grown up hard. She knows the value of hope now, the price of doing the right thing, and the limits of one person's good intentions. Her perspective has broadened and she resents it - but not as much as she's grateful for knowing that despite it all, she and her friends survived. As bad as things get, they still never left anyone out to dry; even when they failed, they put all of themselves into trying. Maybe, in the end, living without regrets is all a person can do.
